Interesting

I heard something interesting on the news today... it was on CBC and it was about the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Apparently one pastor, in the USA, will be burning several copies of the Quran to mark this date.
I find this hard to believe.. especially from a "pastor"...

I wonder what Jesus would do? Actually, I don't have to wonder, for He tells us in John 13: 34-35: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (NIV)

How is burning a Quran showing the love of Jesus to our Muslim friends? It's not!

I don't know how I'm going to celebrate Sept. 11, but it certainly won't be by burning a copy of the Quran, maybe I should pray for them, (and this pastor too) because they need Jesus just as much as I need Jesus!

  1. When I first heard this story on the afternoon news on 88.9 a talk radio station I listen to, I put my forehead in my hand, shook my head and thought what a terrible idea. I wondered if he really thought this was Gods will. This really doesn't show those of the Muslim faith the love of Christ. Then I thought like Gideon's Father If Allah really is a god let him defend himself. Ironic that since this pastor caved on his plan, the Muslims will be able to say; Allah prevailed and this pastor stayed his hand because it was not Allah's will that the holy book be burned.
It's also ironic that Christians are persecuted daily in Muslim country's and no doubt in my mind that our Holy books are burned and it never makes the news.
But we should never be surprised that the god of this age appears to be prevailing against the saints, our Holy scriptures warn us of that.
He allows the news to shout his message while our plight goes unnoticed.
