"I can" vs. "God Can"

Well, I'm not feeling overly inspired this morning, maybe it is has something to do with the snow, or maybe it has something to do with being tired... yeah I'll go with that one.

I attended a meeting last night, and one of the men i attended it with, reflected back on Red Green.. (if you don't know who he was, google him).. at the end of each show, they would go to the "lodge" and recite the man's pledge/prayer, that went "I'm a man, I can change, if i have too, I guess."

While we both thought it would have been funny for the men's meeting to start out like that, it didn't.
The meeting was good, but I'm still thinking about the above mentioned pledge/prayer.

While it's true that I am a man, the truth is I cannot change. even if i have to. I have no power on my own to change... the only way that I can change is if I allow God, through the working of the Holy Spirit to change me from the inside out.
The Bible, in Romans 12:2 says: "Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." (NLT2)

The only way that men, women, boys and girls can change, is if we allow God to change us... and He often starts by chaning the way that we think.... because what we think about is so often what we become.

I don't know about you, but I still need God to change me.... I need Him to change me from the inside out. He wants to, I just need to let Him.....then I can "figure" out what He wants me to do.....

Now, how can I rework that prayer/pledge.. "I'm a man, I can change, if God changes me..."
